Dirt cheap antenna for Wouxun, Quansheng and UV-5R

This seems totally wrong: a replacement antenna (SMA Female) for the Wouxun, Quansheng or UV-5R for a price that won’t buy you a decent burger.

From the looks of it, this appears to be the original dual band antenna supplied with the Wouxun KG-UVD1P and Quansheng TG-UV2. This antenna proved to be a very good performer.

The price: $3.71, which includes shipping.(!) This is 4-5 times cheaper than normal. Usually I always follow the rule “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”, but in this case I’m more than willing to take the risk. The seller’s reputation is good enough.

I suspect though that the price is a mistake, and that it won’t take long before the seller realizes this. You might not want to wait too long before deciding.

Note: price went up 8 cents to $3.79. Not a major difference (yet).

  4. Just asking. If this is the ‘original dual band antenna supplied with the Wouxun KG-UVD1P and Quansheng TG-UV2’, why is everyone rushing to buy one? To have a spare? Because they’re cheap?

    • I can only guess why others rush to buy one, but for me it’s
      a) nice to have a spare, as HT’s get a lot of abuse here,
      b) nice to have one that performs better than most stock antennas,
      c) nice to combine a + b for a price that can’t be beaten!

  5. I lost the original whilst traveling back from Friedrichshafen, so at £2.50 this replacement was very useful.
