Interesting, never heard of this before. If this really works, it would solve the problems with some of my older portable equipment. A few don’t like 1.2V and shut down way too fast.

These are water activated not rechargeable. Their primary use is long storage.
Hallo Hans, persoonlijk zou ik eerder gaan voor Eneloop of Sanyo XX ondanks het “lage” voltage van 1,2V. Ik heb er goede resultaten mee op oudere apparatuur. Neemt niet weg dat dit interessant is. Zo te lezen kunnen de batterijen net geladen 1,9V afgeven. Hoeveel mAh is me niet duidelijk, in de tekst staat 30-35 dagen, maar bij hoeveel vermogen? Laden doe je door er weer wat water aan toe te voegen als ik het zo begrijp. En die 10 jaar houdbaarheid is natuurlijk als je er geen water aan toevoegd. Wel grappig om een keer te proberen en te testen. Overigens zijn de certificaten voor een water powered clock. Blijk baar verkoopt hij er een klokje bij. Dat is natuurlijk niet interessant want er zijn tegenwoordig al hele mooie klokjes op zonne energie incl. temp. meter en alarm en goed leesbaar in het donker. 73, Bas

Factory specs inform us that these batteries are rechargeable. How? Anybody experienced these units?
I like 2 sets for testing, who is joining with the other 998 sets?
I think the ‘factory specs’ aren’t correct – a typical problem with Chinese websites. See Malvino’s comment.
First ohmless resistors and now water batteries. Next, a mobile rig powered by a perpetual motion generator.
I would avoid these like the plague… according to the description, these are plain zinc-carbon cells, with just the distilled water missing to reconstitute the electrolyte. Carbon-zinc cells have a lousy current capacity and the very chemical reaction that produces electricity eats away the zinc casing. Forget them inside your device for a couple of months and they will leak and destroy your gadget.
If you want long shelf life, invest in AA lithium primary (disposable) cells. The 1.7 V nominal tension might be a problem for some electronics though.
