Copper thieves have brought the club station of the Friese Radio Amateur Groep on its knees. In the night of October 17- 18 a total of 24 coax cables and 6 meters of copper cable (ground cable) were cut at the club station, which is located at the Avondsterweg in Leeuwarden. The damage is estimated to run into thousands of Euros.

Next time I hope they are running some high-voltage or high power SHF experiments just when the thieves are trying to steal… 😦
The sad part is copper only has real scrap value if the insulation is stripped off.
The copper in the coax had little value if scrapped as coax.
